In 2018 Germany’s Federal Court of Justice (BGH) ruled that a review request by email can be unsolicited advertising, even to customers who just bought from you. Anyone who sends it anyway risks a cease-and-desist letter, for a review they might not even get.
Happy customers don’t write anything.
Someone who is annoyed finds the way to a review on their own. Someone who is happy would have to look for it first, and hardly anyone does. That is why Google is mostly full of the annoyed ones.
